BlackBerry founder and former co-CEO Mike Lazaridis is considering another run with his old company.
Lazaridis increased his stake in BlackBerry to 8 percent and has engaged Goldman Sachs and Centerview Partners LLC to review a possible acquisition, according to an SEC filing.
Lazaridis is considering a bid as concerns mount over FairFax Financial's ability to line up backers for its proposed deal to take the company private. BlackBerry, meanwhile, is weighing a break up as it continues its smartphone business continues to deteriorate.
